Topics

Analyse the “new highlanders” phenomenon,

• in the context of population movements, especially in-/out migration and multilocality,
  
• its underlying causes and factors,
  
• the resulting changes in the structure and composition of the population, and the regional population densities
  
• the interaction of immigrants and multilocal dwellers with the autochthonous local communities

Aims

• Overview on the state of the art of current knowledge and ongoing research
  
• Provide inputs to the Working Group “Demography and Employment” of the Alpine Convention (WG DE)
  
• Prepare new transnational projects and cooperation
